6:15pm Ballroom dance lessons every week with Carl Davis. Ted Herman's 17 piece orchestra playing from 7 - 9pm. All just $10 per person.

Students will be coached in acting and improvisation techniques, vocal work and physicality. Accepting beginners through professional levels
Training will lead to a live performance at the IPAC at the end of the session!

Tuition for the 2 weeks: $300 ($275 if paid by June 30, $250 if paid by May 31)

Jeanette KnightJeanette Knight is an award-winning actor, director, and educator, whose body of work includes over 40 roles and 20 directing credits nationwide, including a stint at the Tony award-winning Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago. Most recently, she played Louise in “Always, Patsy Cline” at the Indio Performing Arts Center to sold-out audiences. She has served as an artist-in-residence for the California Arts Council, Beaumont Actors Studio, and the McCallum Theatre, where she also was its Education Program Manager for ten years. She has been recognized as a master teaching artist in the field of Aesthetic Education, an inquiry-based progressive education methodology pioneered by the Lincoln Center Institute in New York. She founded Joe & Mustard, the long-form improvisational acting troupe, whose members have been dubbed “masters” of the art form. Some of her proudest accomplishments are the artistic projects she carried out to address violence among teens. Jeanette is part of the theatre faculty at the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy, one of only three arts-based boarding schools in the United States. She is a member of the Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.

- Monologue Preparation & Performance
- Acting, Singing, and Dancing Audition Training
- Finalized DVD Submissions
- Professional Headshots
- Classes and training taught by professional actors, directors, writers, and instructors
 
*Students must bring a monologue, song, dance, or a combination of all three with them to the camp in order to prepare audition DVD.
 
*At the end of the workshop, students will be provided with a professional DVD copy of an audition of their choosing (singing, dancing, and/or acting) as well as a CD of professional headshots to use for professional audition submissions!

Instructor Information:


Tres Dean

Tres Dean received his M.A. in Theatre from Morehead State University in Morehead, KY. He has taught theatre education classes for the Kentucky Public Arts Council, Jenny Wiley Regional Theatre, Marywood Palm Valley School, La Quinta High School, the Palm Canyon Theatre, the La Quinta Playhouse, and the Indio Performing Arts Center. He is currently the Director of Theatre and Acting Instructor at College of the Desert.

Tres has performed across the country and regionally in such roles as Leo Bloom (THE PRODUCERS), Barney Cashman (The Last of the Red Hot Lovers), Dr. Sunshine (Radicalove), Huckleberry Finn (Big River); Arles & Company (Greater Tuna and A Tuna Christmas); The Tin Man (The Wizard of Oz); King Herod (Jesus Christ Superstar); Jacquot (Carnival); Banjo (The Man Who Came to Dinner); Hero (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum); Guildenstern (Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead); Silvius (As You Like It); Billy Bibbitt (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest); Orestes (Electra); Bob Crachitt (A Christmas Carol); Benedict Boniface (Hotel Paradiso); and Peter Pan (Peter Pan).

He has appeared on film as Snoof (Shakespeare’s Cat), Eric (The Latest Thing), and as Elliott Spziegel in the feature film (L.A. Paranormal). Tres has also performed and written for Norwegian Cruise Lines, Orient Cruise Lines, and Walt Disney World. He has studied improvisation, sketch comedy writing and performance with Shadowbox Cabaret Comedy/Rock Theater in Columbus, OH, and The Groundlings in Hollywood, CA. Tres and his wife, Noemi Dean, are the co-founders of Just 2 to Tango Productions which features THE RAGAMUFFIN PROJECT (Children’s Theatre Education) and THE BIG SHOW LIVE (Sketch Comedy Cabaret). They live in La Quinta with their children Viktorria, Miranda, Christian, and Miles.

 


Noemi Villela-Dean

Noemi Dean has been working with the children of the Coachella Valley since 2005 first serving as the Children's Educational Director for the La Quinta Playhouse, where she also worked as a Production Stage Manager, Director, and Sound Designer. She co-directed productions of The Velveteen Rabbit, A Tuna Christmas, Lend Me a Tenor, and Dirty Blonde. In the summer of 2006, Noemi directed a six week educational series in which 200 children across the valley participated in theatre arts workshops and classes.

She and her husband are the co-founders of "Just 2 to Tango Productions" which features THE
RAGAMUFFIN PROJECT (Children's Educational Theatre) and THE BIG SHOW LIVE (Sketch Comedy
Cabaret). In the spring of 2008 she co-adapted and directed the "Just 2 to Tango" premiere production of The Princess and the Pea. Noemi has also written and directed THE RAGAMUFFIN PROJECT (CHILDREN'S SKECTH COMEDY CABARET), WE GOT THE BEAT, and JACK AND THE BEANSTALK. She lives in La Quinta with her husband, Tres, and children Viktorria, Miranda, Christian, and Miles.
